Personal Transponder Deal for Riders and Clubs/Centre
The ACU Board of Directors have been working closely with HS Sports and MYLAPS Sports Timing to provide a suitable package deal for both riders and centres/clubs. HS Sports and MYLAPS can offer the regular MX transponder at the price of £190 + vat or there is the option of the new MX Flex Transponder.
The new MX Flex Transponder is a MYLAPS transponder which is subscription based, after paying for the initial purchase and activation at £65 + vat for the first 12 months. At the end of the twelve months the transponder will need to be reactivate for a further 12 months, you just connect it to the internet and pay a yearly fee of £38 + vat.
HS Sports have also produced two different packages for the clubs, centres and promoters to run the system. The packages include all the equipment required to run the system. The ACU Board of Directors are conscious that some Centres/Clubs may have difficulty in funding the overall cost of a transponder system and therefore on the provision of an appropriate application for funding, the Board will consider on a case by case basis the possibility of an interest free loan or a favourable low rate percentage loan tailored to the needs of the Organisner.

Motorcycle Racers Subscription discount
The Motorcycle Racer magazine owners are keen to work with the ACU to promote racing to the public and to ensure that, as well as providing in-depth analysis of MotoGP, World Superbikes and BSB, other national race series are covered too. Motorcycle Racer has recently changed hands with the current owners taking over the reins at Racer just day before Christmas 2010 and the first few issues under the new regime have already hit the shelves.
Boasting a new format Motorcycle Racer sees the magazine opting to invite Guest Editors to take control of the magazine each month, rather than the traditional single Editor. The Guest Editor is supported by an in-house editorial team and so far Bradley Smith and Tommy Hill have taken on the role. The idea of using a Guest Editor is to help continually raise issues within the sport and air their views on the topics that affect everyone.
The new team are also determined to tackle the tricky subject of race reporting, after the magazine stopped reporting on individual races when the Internet began to provide up to the minute race results, making it hard for monthly magazines to compete.
