The Trials and Enduro Committee are pleased to announce that following a review of the 2011 Championship at a recent Trials and Enduro Committee meeting. During the meeting the Championship results were reviewed and considered because of issues with the rules of the Championship along with the cancellation / rescheduling of rounds.

Two stalwarts of British Motorcycle Sport received the ACU Medal of Honour during the National Council meeting held at ACU House on Saturday 19th November. The ACU President, the Right Reverend John Oliver presented Eric Adcock and Vic Ashford with their well deserved accolade to mark their outstanding contribution to the ACU and Motorcycle Sport in general.

The ACU Trials & Enduro Committee is pleased to announce, after much debate and discussion, considerable changes to the British Solo Trials Championship. On Thursday 24th November 2011 the Committee met with the Importers. This proved an extremely useful and constructive meeting.

The ACU Trials Try Out Zone taking place at the Motorcycle Live at the NEC in the Birmingham in conjunction with Bumpy Trials Training has proved a massive success. With the show running from the 19th-27th November, visitors to the Show this weekend will still have a chance to sample Trials riding for free in a controlled environment.

Birstall Motor Cycle Activity Centre BUMPY Ltd, based at Birstall, are the first organisation in Yorkshire to adopt a green policy within their extensive training facilities. As part of their strategy of reducing their carbon footprint Bumpy Ltd are looking to the future by introducing to their fleet of training vehicles, both off road and on road, electric powered, by batteries. Initially two off road trials machines manufactured by Mecatecno have been purchased to complement the trials machines.

On November 15, 2011 Manxman David Knight received his MBE for Services to the Sport of Motorcycling, after being listed on the Queen’s 2011 Birthday Honours List and has been made a Member of the British Empire.

On Sunday 6th November the final round of the 2011 ACU Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British Sidecar Trials Championship took place. The final round of the ten round championship was held at the Merle Morewood Peak Trial, organised by the Sheffield and Hallamshire MC. Robin and Sam Luscombe took the title in the Expert Class, while Daryl Dale and Harriet Shore took the honours in the Intermediates.

There is no denying that Total Enduro’s Total Extreme event at Westwood near Barnsley, was extreme. Organised by John Kerwin and Graham Jarvis, Jarvis thought he may have made it too extreme following the one-hour practice session before the main event as competitors who had competed at Erzberg said that the course was tougher than the Austrian event.
