If you have been reading all the hype on the upcoming Future West ACU British Supercross Championship and think I would love to race in that series but its probably too expensive. Think again! Future West have dropped the series fee and lowered prices for all riders whether you compete in one event or all five.
British Trials Championship Final Round

This weekend sees the final round of the 2011 ACU Events sponsored trials series. The event returns to BACK COWM QUARRY, Tong Lane, Whitworth, Nr Rochdale OL12 8BJ which has seen many spectacular events from a few years ago. There is no reason to suppose this time will be any different as Back Cowm has a fantastic array of hazards to throw at the riders.

This weekend Team GB’s Supermoto riders will be heading to Motorland Aragon in Spain. The event will be taking place on 2nd October at the Motorland circuit near to Alcaniz. The Motorland Circuit is a purpose built venue and the ideal setting for the 2011 Supermoto of Nations.
INTERNATIONAL ‘STARS AT DARLEY’ FOR SEASON FINALE

This weekend, 1st & 2nd October 2011 will see the Darley Moor Motor Cycle Road Race Club end their 2011 season in style with the traditional finale – the ‘Stars at Darley’ meeting. With six champions still to be decided you can once again expect to see superb racing, but add in a host of British Championship competitors and several big stars from the pure road racing scene and the Adult entry fee of £15 (*) offers excellent value for money. If you cannot get to the circuit on Sunday then you will have the opportunity to see everybody during Saturday practice for no more than £6 (*).
British Quadcross Championship – The Final Round

The final round of the ACU Goldspeed British Quadcross Championship takes place this weekend with all classes participating at the ACU organised event. The decision has been taken to hold the final round at Milton Park on Sunday 2nd October and not over the full weekend as had originally been planned. Racing on Saturday has been cancelled due to lack of entries. Sunday’s event will see three races in each class as opposed to the original two race format. Despite the shorter weekend, there will still be plenty of action to entertain the crowds as a total of 13 championships are decided with riders battling it out for the prestigious British titles.
YOUTH AND AMATEUR SUPERCROSS

This weekend the 2011 Veterans Motocross Des Nations took place at the famous venue of Farleigh Castle in front of a large crowd of excited fans. With two days of top class racing featuring some of the biggest names in motocross from the past and present.

At the annual sidecarcross team event, held this year at the spectacular Am Hahnenberg track at Jauer in Germany, Team GB performed brilliantly and came home with the bronze medal for third place.

ACU Events have reluctantly taken the decision to run the final round of the 2011 Quad Championship at Milton Park on Sunday 2nd October and not over the full weekend as originally planned. The Saturday had to be cancelled due to the lack of entries.

Roo Cotton, the 25-year-old from Poole took his 2009 spec R1 Yamaha to his first ever Superbike double win at Pembrey. Cotton is no stranger to wins over the years after having racked up many on his TZ125 and TZ250 Yamaha’s in the past but this weekend he got to grips with the R1 and Pembrey. It was a weekend of mixed emotions though for Roo and The DTR Dennis Trollope Racing Team as they lost team member Neil Kent recently in the Manx Grand Prix. Cotton rode the weekend with “Kenty #16 RIP” emblazoned down the side of his yellow and black R1 as a mark of respect, and was visibly delighted to take both the STP Motorsport Powerbike and Phoenix Open finals on Sunday beating local hero Phil Bevan on both occasions.

Fourth Place Finish in France

This year’s FIM Motocross of Nations took place at St Jean D’Angely in France on the 17th and 18th September, and Team Great Britain travelled to the event with high hopes of Podium joy. Following recent good results Tommy Searle, Dean Wilson and Brad Anderson all hoped to perform well on the France track situated on the hillside.
British Grass track Titles decided at Collier Street

On Sunday the British Grasstrack Championships took place at the superb venue of Collier Street and hosted by the Maidstone Aces. The meeting featured some great racing and at the end of the meeting it was Craig Drury who took the 250cc title, Jason Handley the 350cc, Josh Goodwin and passenger Liam Brown in the 500cc Sidecars and Dave Penford who took home the Left Hand Sidecar series.

This weekend both the Men’s and Women’s Trials Des Nations teams headed to Tolmezzo in Italy, the event was run under mixed weather conditions, which left the course in very slippery and tricky for all of the riders competing.
Brits Blitz at European Enduro Final

When the European Enduro Championship visited Riomes Montagnes in Central France in 2009, it encountered two days of torrential rain. Returning for the 3 day European Enduro Final and Trophy for Nations and Clubs on the weekend of Sept 16-18th this year, those who made the trip arrived to be greeted with scorching sunshine for the first few days and only a few scattered showers on weekend.

Round 7 of the Darley Moor Motor Cycle Road Race Club’s Championship provided something for every motorsport fan with machines spanning a thirty year period competing in the Thunderfest Time Trial, machinery from the 90’s through to modern day competing for the regular two and three wheeled Darley Championships and, of course for fans of four wheeled motorsport there was the Long Circuit Kart Club competitors.

2011 Quadcross of European Nations

The third annual Quadcross of European Nations takes place this weekend with 17 countries entered for the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) hosted event. The ACU are once again supporting a team to represent Great Britain. The three riders picked by team manager Martin Fletcher and heading to the magnificent track of M.C. Jauer (Germany) are John Mitchell, Paul Holmes and Mark Watson

Grand Finale For Oset Cup

Addingham Moorside was the venue for the sixth and final round of the Yeadon Guiseley Oset Cup. With a staggering 25 youngsters turning up to take part in what has become a renowned success, observers had to be found for each section. British c-class champion Joe Faunthorpe and his parents along with club chairman, Mike Jennings volunteered to help out to ensure the young Oset riders could complete each of the six sections, three times before the start of the main trial.

As championship curtain closers go the 2011 BYMX finale at Milton Park had more than enough variety on offer with seven championships plus an Auto challenge to be decided. The weather held up fine and the meeting ran like clockwork under the guidance of BA Promotions.

With the Mid Wales Centre entrusted with the running of the Inter Centre as part of their Diamond jubilee celebration nearly 250 riders turned up representing their various centres at Green Hall just outside the small Powys town of Llanfyllin.
May 2011 Phoenix Tools Premier MX1 Championship

Last Sunday the Penultimate round of the 2011 Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championship visited a new venue to the series which was Tiverton Moto Parc, and it was also new to several riders who hadn't ridden there before. Things were a bit doubtful early in the week and towards the end of the week as heavy rain had been forcasted, but the team persevered and waited to make a decision on Friday evening and what a decision it was as rain was to fall on Saturday evening and the track was in prime condition for racing and produced some fast and furious battles during the day.

ACU British Cross Country Championship finishes at Llangrove

Adult competitors Ant Barrett, Danny Lloyd, Stuart Jones and youth rider Jamie Morgan were all crowned ACU British Quad X-Country champions in their respective classes at final round of the series at the spectacular valley track at Llangrove near Monmouth on Sunday. With Carl Bunce having already sewn up the main adult championship class at the previous round, all eyes were on the battles in other classes and they didn’t disappoint.

Helm opens Minitwin championship lead

Luke Helm (SDC Suzuki SV650) arrived at Snetterton 23 points adrift of MRO Minitwin championship leader Dan Couzens (Team V-Speed Suzuki SV650). However, with Couzens’ absent from proceedings, it gave the young rider from Preston an opportunity to over turn Couzens’ advantage ahead of the final round at Brands Hatch.

2011 ACU Inter Centre Team Trial this weekend

Next weekend (10/11 September) see the annual ACU's Inter Centre Team Trial run this year by the Mid Wales Centre who are celebrating their Diamond Jubilee aniversary. This year sees almost a full house in both the youth and adult solo competitions and the competition looks very open with several teams looking for wins in the various events.

At this late stage of the season playing it safe and riding for points is most definitely not an option. With just this Pembrey two-day meeting, and the season finale to go for 2011 if you want to get your hands on one of the class championships you must pull out all the stops. There are several championships that are very tight point’s wise, so although wins are vital to keep your rivals at bey.... a slip up would be disastrous. This will play into the more experienced rider’s hands.
Moto cross debut for Side X Side

A new form of moto cross made its UK debut on sunday with the increasingly popular Side X Side UTVs racing with the NORA-MX Quad club. Ten of the two-seater vehicles, which have evolved from utility ATVs, lined up at Culham to provide three highly enjoyable demo races, and a few amusing roll overs!
Team Franks are Crowned Clubman Champions 2011

The SMCA Clubmans Sidecar Championship has been one of the best in recent years and the final round didn’t disappoint. Although Neil and Michael Franks had been at the top of the leader board for most of the season going into the last round they were only 34 points ahead of second place and in fact only 70 points separated the first four teams and with 75 points on offer it was not a done deal! The SMCA would like to express their thanks to Broadhembury Club who hosted this last round at Wrangway for a very well run meeting which made the end of the Championship something to remember.

After heavy rain in the lead up to the FIM Spea World Trials Championship round in France and during the event. France was to be the final round of the year for the FIM World Trials Championship and again it was Toni Bou who took the win, but Top British Trials riders all performed well across the two days of riding.
Thunderfest Speed Trials at Darley Moor National Road Racing

There are still a few places left for the Thunderfest Speed Trials which will be held at the Darley Moor National Road Racing circuit on Sunday 18 September. The Thunderfest is a development of the time trials which have been popular in Europe for years and have occasionally been run in Britain. However, instead of aiming for an average speed set by the organiser, Thunderfest competitors decide their own target speed - fast or slow.

Following six action packed pulsating rounds which all kicked off in the snow at Brampton in March the BYMX series then went on the road visiting both Scotland and Northern Ireland and it all comes to a thrilling climax this weekend at Milton Park near Northampton. A total of seven new British champions will be crowned and the ACU flagship circuit in the capable hands of BA Promotions will play host to what should be the best championship decider of recent years. It's very often said that "It's all going right down to the wire" and in the both the Youth Open and BW/85cc sections that would appear to be a cast iron certainty this year.

On the 21st August saw the battling British Team head to Germany for the World Team Cup. After losing David Howe and Richard Hall due to injury, replacement riders Mitch Gooden and Paul Cooper joined Andrew Appleton and Glen Phillips.
Smolinski Wins UEM Final at Skegness, Appleton finishes third

Last Sunday Martin Smolinski was crowded the 2011 European Grass Track Champion at the event hosted by the Wainfleet and District Sporting Motorcycle Club. Smolinski claimed the title ahead of Dutch rider De Jong and 2010 Champion Andrew Appleton.
