This weeks ‘What’s on Weekly’ features more events from around the country. Here is a selection of just a few events taking place.
Motocross
This weekend, 20th and 21st August, will see the World Motocross Grand Prix heading to the UK and Matterley Basin, Winchester. It has been one of the most talked about Motocross races of the year and the biggest names from MX will be making an appearance this weekend along with a whole host of British wildcard riders. Plans are fully sorted for this weekend and the crowds are expected to be big. Race Promoter Steve Dixon from SD Events commented: "We're really looking forward to this weekend. It has been a long time since we had a MX GP in the UK and I'm glad we've been able to provide this to the British fans and riders with this event. Plans have gone really well and we're keeping our fingers crossed for good weather and hope the loyal MX fans and some new race fans across the country will make the trip to Matterley this weekend to support our sport. It's set to be a great and action-packed weekend with full entertainment throughout." The last major event to be held at Matterley Basin was the Motocross of Nations in 2006 and the British Grand Prix is sure to be a superb event featuring the world’s best riders competing for glory. So be sure not to miss out on the biggest motocross event of the year, and support Britain’s top riders in their quest for glory.
Trials
Guisborough and DMCC will be hosting a National Trials event at Mountain Ash Farm, Glaisdale near Whitby. The event will be taking place on Sunday morning starting at 9:30am. With four different classes including Expert, Intermediate, Clubman and Youth A all competing during the course of the day, on both hard and easy section. The event will run of a seven mile lap made up of 20 sections and completed twice.

d of the Sammy Miller Products Trials Championship at Prince Llewllyn Inn at Cilmery. The Frank Jones Trial will be hosted by the Builth Wells Motor Club and feature the fourth round of the Sammy Miller Championship. All current championship leaders will be looking to improve on their current point’s scores as the fourth round signals the halfway stage of the championship. Sunday’s event will consist of a 35 mile long course featuring the use of Public roads.
Enduro
On Saturday the Trail Bike Enduro Club will be hosting a Hare and Hounds event at Blewbury, Ashdown Farm in Oxon. The course will be set up on a closed course and will not feature any Public Roads. Saturday’s action will be starting at 10:30am and with nine different classes competing during the course of the day, there is sure to be plenty to watch. The course will be laid out over a distance of 6.5km. Camping at the venue is available from 6pm on Friday evening.
Also this weekend the Diss MCC will be hosting a round of the Bowens Two Man Enduro Championship at Wattisfield Hall in Diss. The event will take place at the clubs motocross track, using both the motocross track and the surrounding land. Sunday’s event will feature three different classes including the Championship, Expert and Clubman Class. All action will start at 10am with the first riders setting off.
Grass Track
On Saturday the 20th August the third round of the ACU Track Racing series will be coming to Coventry Stadium. The meeting will be starting at 7:30 and features the best Sidecar Speedway outfits competing against the best Sidecar Grass Track outfits in one championship. Reigning Track Racing Champions Matt Tyrell/Mark Courtney will be doing battle against the current British Masters Grass Track and Sidecar Speedway Champions Mark Cossar/ Carl Blyth from nearby Rugby. Also thrown into the mix will be Ex Masters Champions Rob Wilson/ Terry Saunters, Paul Whitelam/ Alan Elliott and Gary Jackson/ Henry Rogers.
This weekend the Ledbury Motorcycle Club will be hosting the ACU British Under 21’s Championship on Sunday 21st August. The British ACU Under 21’s will also feature the Upright British Grasstrack Gold Trophy and support classes for the 250cc, 350cc, 500cc solos and 1000cc sidecar. The event will be taking place at Man Meadow, Manor Farm, Longdon. Entry prices for the public are £10 for Adults, £7 for concessions and £2 for an event Programme. Practice will be starting at 11am and the first race will be at 1pm.
Road Race
After a five week break the Hottrax Motorsport paddock will be pleased to return to the flowing sweeps of Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire for Round Six of the 2011 Endurance, Michelin Power Cup, MotoGrande and Ducat Desmo Championship. Cadwell Park is a firm favourite amongst club. With a test day on the Friday and racing on Saturday and Sunday there will be plenty to see. Action starts at 9am on the Saturday and with a full weekend of racing there is sure to be plenty of action.
