Trials Sad Loss-Lynda Crabtree (Funeral Details)

Mansfield Maun Motor Cycle Club lost a really true stalwart of trialling with the passing, at 6.00 am on Thursday morning, of Lynda Crabtree. Her daughter and son, Karen and Tony were by her side in the Kingsmill Hospital, Mansfield, at the time. Lynda was sixty four and had fought lung cancer since diagnosed on October 14 –2009.

Around all the race circuits across the country there are signs highlighting that ‘Motor Sport is Dangerous’, but at Round 4 of Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club’s Championship on Sunday 26th June, if sensible precautions were not taken it could have been dangerous just spectating with temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius!
Sam Lowes wins the Buildbase Mallory Park Race of the Year

PARKALGAR HONDA’S Sam Lowes took a hard-fought victory in the Buildbase Mallory Park Race of the Year, scoring a new Supersport lap record at the same time in very hot and slippery track conditions.
New Powerbike lap record set with adverse weather at Silverstone

With championship leader Rob McNealy absent in the MRO Powerbikes, two overall wins and an additional class win for Michael Neeves saw him close the gap at the top of the standings to just 20 points. A fact made all the sweeter with a new Bemsee Powerbike lap record set along the way.

Stefan Murphy Wins Round 6 of Nora MX Club Championship

CLUB champion Stefan Murphy put a miserable British championship outing last weekend behind him and bounced back to dominate the sixth round of the NORA-MX Expert championship at Enstone in sunny Oxfordshire on Sunday.
Despite being threatened on occasions Murphy never seriously looked like being beaten around the fast open track, which had been left in perfect condition by the mid-week rain.

In his Article basically about the TT, John made mention of the fact that there still appears to be a degree of misunderstanding by a majority of people, including ACU Members, regarding the ACU and ACU Events Ltd., especially considering the similarity in the names of the companies and the individuals linked to both bodies.

Unfortunately the London Fire Brigade MCC have informed the ACU Office that they have regrettably had to cancel their events scheduled for the 19th June. The event has been cancelled due to a lack of entries they will have to cancel their Sprint Enduro scheduled to be held at Iron Hill in Hollycombe , W,Sussex.

The Oset Cup is motoring along at full speed if today’s turnout is anything to go by. With 17 riders tackling six sections, three times each, the entry at Dave Emmots farm in Silsden had to be divided into two groups to make sure the fledgling riders were finished before bedtime.

Once again the Sunbeam MCC is seeking nominations for one of the UK’s most prestigious awards - THE PINHARD TROHY. This award has been presented since 1950 to the best Under-21 year old sporting motorcyclist competing under ACU or SACU jurisdiction.

MotoRescue is a breakdown and recovery service for motorcycle enthusiasts where simply missing a race competition is not an option. In the event that your vehicle breaks down en route to a race event that you are competing in MotoRescue will get your vehicle and your passengers to the event and home again if a repair cannot be carried out whilst you are your race meeting. The scheme was developed by Autohome Assistance, a motor club that celebrated 40 years of service this year, in conjunction with the ACU.
Busy Month for the Waterside Junior Motorcycle Club

The Waterside Junior Motorcycle Club based in the Southern Centre are now heading into a busy month of events, with four Trials events taking place in the next four weeks. The Waterside Junior Motorcycle Club is a Family friendly club in the Hampshire area, that in the past had been a predominantly Junior members club, but in recent years the club has seen an increase in Adult members.
CUSSES GORSE TO HOST PREMIER MOTOCROSS

This Sunday the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championships makes its first visit in the series into Wiltshire to Cusses Gorse, Nr Salisbury for round 5. This venue has hosted many top events over the years but this is the first time that the Premier Championship will have taken place here, so expectations are high.

The Owls Motor Club is a friendly Motorcycle Club based in Kent which runs regular club competition Trials for both Adults and Children from the ages of six years old. The club also hold the occasional Road Run, Trail Runs and yearly Fun Day for all the family. The club also have a number of members competing in Road Racing.
Patchquick Trophy meeting set to take place on the 27th July

This year’s 65th running of the Patchquick Trophy Event will take place at Phoenix Moto Parc (formally Whiteway Barton) on Wednesday 27th July. The Patchquick Trophy sponsored by Phoenix Tools of Kingsteighton will this year be promoted by the South West Premier, the organisers behind the Phoenix Tools South West Premier Championship. South West Premier have be given the rights to run the event due their knowledge of running large scale events in the South West area like the Maxxis British Championship.

Clubmans Sidecar Championship Round 5 Report

The British Clubman Sidecar Championship headed west for round 5 where a warm welcome from the Cornwall Motocross Club awaited them. The club put on a very smooth well run meeting at Truthan Farm, Trispen. The layout of the track had been changed a bit which caught out a few of the local crews! The club had even ordered warm sunny weather unlike last year which was very wet! The conditions did mean dust but this was contained as much as the club could with watering during the day.

The third round of the ACU British Cross Country Championship (BXCC) will be at Canada Heights on Sunday 12th June 2011. The event is set to take place over a seven mile lap using the British Motocross Championship track, plus our 17.'5 acre undulating grass field and surrounding woodland and car park fields.
ACU PR Department Takes Control ACU Website

With effect 1st June, the ACU PR Department has taken over the management of the ACU website and will be promoting grassroots sports held under the ACU banner. The PR Department would be very grateful therefore if Clubs and Centres within the ACU could supply any details of upcoming events and activities by email to pr@acu.org.uk that they would like to see published on the ACU website.
24 Hours until Bolddog Freestyle at Rougham

With 24 hours to go, advanced ticket sales for the Bolddog FMX Championship on Saturday 4th June have far exceeded any expectations, drawing people from all over the UK. The Bolddog Freestyle team have be working hard to extend the size of the course, to cater for the amount of people expected on the evening. see the Action Sports Company, Bolddog running a Freestyle Motocross (FMX) Championship and other extreme sports entertainment throughout the evening.

Entries for the 2011 GH Motorcycle sponsored Eastern Centre Evening series are now available, with the opening round of the championship taking place on the 8th June at Wakes Colne hosted by the Halstead Club. The three round series travels to the Diss Club at Wattisfield for round two on the 13th July before the final round on the 27th July at Blaxhal hosted by the Woodbridge DMCC.
Motocross Challenge Project features in Dirt Bike Rider

Motocross Challenge Project(MXCP) in Dover recently featured in the Dirt Bike Rider Magazine covering the hard work that is had been done to promote the sport of Motocross to disadvantaged children in the Dover area. MXCP is the brain child of Richard and Charlotte Newton who set up the project as a non-profitable independent charity that gives young people of all ages and from all social backgrounds a chance to ride a Motocross bike and so much more. The project gives the children a real opportunity to have some direction in life and bringing a positive and public interest to our sport.

Last Sunday round 4 of the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championships took place at Little Silver Moto Parc, Exeter which had attracted a huge entry and included many wildcards including the likes of Stephen Sword, Alex Snow and Kristian Whatley to name a few in the MX1 class and in the MX2 class we had wildcard entries from the likes of James Dodd and Luke Dean and making a return to racing was young Luke Hawkins after his bad crash at Hawkstone Park back in March and with many spectators in attendance they were treated to some of the best racing so far in this years series.

The sport of Grass Track and Long Track lost one of its greatest riders, and finest ambassadors, with the sad passing of Don Godden on Saturday.

On Sunday June 5th the Norfolk MXC club will be holding the third round of the Norfolk MXC Championship at the Sculthorpe Circuit. The event is the last chance to ride the circuit before the 3rd Round of the Eastern Centre Schoolboy Championship. Sunday’s meeting features line ups of Auto’s, 65cc, 85cc Small Wheels and 85cc Big Wheels, along with Youth Open, Adult Open and Over 35’s. With the meeting less than a week away there are spaces available in all classes
