Berkhamsted MCC are running a Charity Trial on 28/5/11 with a difference at their permanent Nash Mills training ground. The club has joined forces with Bucks New University students to help organise the day. The chosen charity is Riders for Health who are bringing down an exhibition truck for the day.
Overnight leader James Dabill - Beta held his nerve brilliantly to secure the win during a tense and close finish to the centenary edition of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). Riding at the front of the field Dabill lost marks as early as the second group at Upper Mamore to see his advantage reduced to just two marks and then saw things come far too close for comfort as he dropped a further dab at Leanachan. Day 4 of the Scottish Six Day Trial saw the first day of rain during the 2011 event, and also marked the third leader in as many days. James Dabill on his Beta moved to the top following only dropping one mark as the 2007 winner now holds a single mark lead over Graham Jarvis in second.
At the end of Day 3 it iss Dougie Lampkin who has taken control at the front of the 2011 Scottish Six Day Trial, as he looks to take a record breaking sixth win.
Following Day 2 of the Scottish Six Day Trial it is Twenty-four year old Michael Brown on board the Gas Gas that is edging away from the chasing pack. Brown finished the second day with only two marks lost and now holds a single point lead over team mate Dougie Lampkin.
Following glorious sunny weather, the opening day of the 2011 Scottish Six Day Trial got underway with a fifty-eight mile tour of the Highlands, taking in a total of thirty sections. Two hundred and seventy six competitors headed off from the starting line at the beginning of a week’s riding.
