The ACU Trials & Enduro Committee confirm details of a new initiative for U23 riders in the 2010 Metzler ACU Enduro Championship.

For the 2010 Championship series, points will be awarded to the U23 riders in the order they finish in the Overall positions of the Championship class. In the final classification, the best U23 rider (Under 23 on Jan 1st in the year of the competition) will be awarded the title British Junior Enduro Champion.

In line with the other Championship classes, at the conclusion of the series the points scored by each rider in all days held less 2 (which do not have to be from same event) will be used to calculate the final positions.

PRESS / WEBSITE RELEASE
UEM PROMOTIONAL ENDURO TEAM
The ACU has received communication indicating that the UEM will be establishing a Promotional Enduro team of three European U23 riders for the 2010 European Enduro Championship.
The Team will consist of 3 young riders ( maximum age 23) wishing to gain International experience but lacking in the necessary economic means to contest the Championship and will be supported by Husqvarna, who will provide the machines; the UFO Plastic company and of course the UEM.
MUCCI Racing will manage the team, which will contest the 4 rounds of the 2010 European Enduro Championship in the E1J and E2J classes
Initial details are that each rider will be provided with a Husqvarna practice machine as well as a race machine, together with spares, tyres and clothing. In addition full support facilities will be made available at each event.
Riders entry, travel and accommodation costs for each event would be their own responsibility.
There is expected to be selection process undertaken in Italy – but initially Federations have been asked to provide details of any suitable, interested riders who may wish to apply. Obviously with only 3 riders to be selected throughout Europe, the required standards will be high
Interested Riders should contact Mary Kerr at the ACU in the first instance, and should immediately send in a completed and suitable CV and record of results in events such as WEC, UEM and BEC Enduro events. Suitable applicants will be selected and forwarded to the UEM.
Please reply by 18th January in order to comply with the deadline
