The ACU Road Race Committee announces an exciting new competition in motorcycle road racing for 2009.
‘MotoSix, The 6 Nations’, is a new team road race event that will feature teams from the four ‘Home Nations’ of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, along with teams from the Isle of Man and the Irish Republic, racing against one another in a titanic battle for the title, ‘MotoSix Nations Champions’.

The ACU Road Race Committee has decided to help parents of budding young road racers by scrapping the fee for the compulsory Competitor Training Course (CTC).
From 1st January 2009, any new Road Race Licence applicant aged under 17 years of age on the date they attend the course, will get their course free of charge.
The Committee decided to scrap the normal £50 fee to encourage more young riders to try their hand at motorcycle road racing.

Stanley Gamble finished his ACU Suzuki GSX-R600 Trophy season on a high taking pole position and race win at the final round at Pembrey and wrapping up the Championship.
He gapped second place man Chris Hawkes by a good 9secs with Taryn Skinner taking a fighting third place giving him his second podium finish of the season. Skinner was once again awarded the Express Insurance Top Gun cash award for the best novice ride of the day.

Brendan Roberts was crowned FIM 1000 Superstock Cup World Champion after defying the odds going from fourth in the Championship to take the overall win. The new Portuguese circuit, Portimao, was a tester for all the riders as the track for the final round was only finished a couple of weeks ago. Roberts dominated throughout the weekend and took the fastest lap, pole position and the overall race win to take the Championship title. Disaster struck Roberts at the last round at Magny....
